Joseph was a carpenter who made a wooden boy. Pinocchio derives from this theory; in the story of Pinocchio there is no Mother figure, just a father. The mothers sex has been eradicated, as is Mary’s sex in the bible. Joseph was the God the father and he made Jesus with wood by hand which accounts for the virgin birth. Mary faked a nine month pregnancy in order not to arouse supposition and alert anyone to the magic in operation. The making of Jesus and Pinocchio is a model for an alternative birth option which has been lightly veiled to in order to conceal the option of the male partner in premier possession of a child and therefore maintain the status quo of the main parent and domesticated duties defaulting to the mother.
Mary the Mother of Jesus and everyone in the world. The template for the suffering mother. Suffering over the death of her adult son, remains intact.
Domestics head’s are wooden puppet children once controlled by makers on strings, now endeavoring to find new pastures and set up home elsewhere yet taking home with them. A rite of passage; a bid to grow; growing up and out, oversized and clumsy, sad and lost.
However they are never without the mother as the mother is pictured here as the home, she is ever present. The boy’s heads are heavy with her house. she does not want to leave them and they do not want to leave her. So they stay together in an uncomfortable arrest of development.
